With a cool family and cool location, what else can you ask for?! We got to photograph the Thompsons inside the Ritz Theater in Downtown Brunswick, GA. It’s a historic theater with a very cool upstairs area. I think my favorite image is the one shooting along the threshold to see Kim and TJ win different rooms.
You’ve seen this family before if you follow me on Facebook and have seen some of the pictures I’ve taken at church. Otherwise, this is our first session with our good friends, the Lewis family. They are such a creative and unique family.
Our time with them downtown was mostly fun except for the gnats driving us crazy. We even ran into Brooke Roberts, another photographer, while we were down there.

On a cold winter morning we joined the VanBoxel kids and their sneaky dad Jimmy under the guise of “going to see Santa” to get some secret photos to give their mom for Christmas. Yeah, I’m posting this two months late. :)
The plan was to meet at Christ Church to make use of the several hundred year old tabby walls and the great scenery. We also borrowed the playground for a bit. Next we headed to the St. Simons Island pier area for some more fun. These kids were a blast! This shoot was a bit different because Jimmy (dad) really likes black and white photography. Photographing with that purpose gives us a whole different approach to capturing images. I love when we get to things a bit different than normal.
On a “this guy rocks” side note. Jimmy is a stylist and owns Uberzoot Salon on St. Simons Island. He’s given Amanda and I the best cuts and styles we’ve ever had.

Gibson SG, huh? Isn’t that like giving your kid pre-conceived ideas of which AX to gravitate towards? He might be a PRS boy or an Ibanez fan, or heck, perhaps a vintage Telecaster may float his boat…who knows, but good Lord, TJ, let Canon decide!
