On a perfect, beautiful day we had the pleasure of photographing Carla for her senior portraits. It’s always a joy to photograph on Jekyll Island, especially in the Historic District and Driftwood beach. We think they turned out wonderful!

We spent a fun evening with Cameron, a senior at Glynn Academy High School, for his senior portraits. He is a great bass player and plays for his church youth group. We started at Epworth by the Sea and then headed to the St Simons Island village area by the pier. Good luck in your senior year Cameron!

Lydia Rocked Her Senior Portrait Session

Whoamygosh! We love leaving a session knowing that when we get back to the office we’re going to be ooo-ing and ahhhh-ing over our own images. Not because of how well we did, but because of how well SHE did. Lydia really brought the emotion and fun and the “it” that makes the images. We were so happy to work with Lydia. From her rad choice of outfits to her model posing… she rocked it!

By the way, I don’t mention it enough, but Amanda is just as much a part of this studio as I am, and 3/4 of these photos are hers. So high-fives and big hugs to Amanda for her amazing work.

Rachel’s Senior Photography Session

For this AMAZING senior session we traveled up Highway 17 to Darien, GA. Downtown Darien is full of neat, old buildings and the remains of 300 year old structures. Lots of history to be found here. Recently, the area has been revitalized and makes for some great photos in this mix of new and old and even older.

Rachel couldn’t have been more fun to work with. So super happy and full of life. She was even her school’s homecoming queen!

You’ll see at the end some photos of her in volleyball gear, a sport which she is quite good at!

Rachel, we had tons of fun! Thanks for letting us be a part of your senior year!

Layne’s Senior Portraits on Jekyll Island – Historic District and Driftwood Beach

This senior photography session with Layne was full of laughs and movie quotes – lots of them from Finding Nemo. :) Her happy personality made getting pretty pictures so easy. We spent our time in the historic district and then on Driftwood beach. At the end of her senior session her family stopped by to get a few as a family before sunset.

Victoria’s Senior Portrait Photography on St. Simons and Jekyll Island

I’m on a boat! Well, we all were. And it was a bit more than a boat. It was a yacht called the Odyssey.

We started our time at Morningstar Marina off of St. Simons Island. We got to use a friend’s yacht which was AWESOME for Victoria’s senior portraits. Later we headed to Jekyll Island and spent time in both the Historic District and at Driftwood Beach.

Victoria really brought it that day. It was like working with a pro model. We had a great time. Hope you like em!

Devyn + Darianne’s Senior Portraits – Jekyll + St. Simons Island

Standing in line at Chick-fil-a two years ago Devyn (who was ahead of me in line) told me I was going to photograph her senior portraits. I said “ok, sounds great”. Now she and her sister Darianne are seniors at Glynn Academy and our most recent seniors. Their excitement was evident from our first meeting to talk about and plan their senior shoot.

Devyn’s request to “not do something like everyone else” was music to my ears since that usually means we’re dreaming BIG! We threw around ideas until we decided on involving a plane – something neither one had seen their friends do. When their source for a plane fell through I called a friend’s dad who graciously donated his time to pull the plane out of the hangar and let us shoot with it. While the owner and his son played ping-pong we grabbed some super-rad shots.

We spent the remainder of our time on Jekyll Island at the pier and in the historic district and also on St Simons Island at a super nice office building.

They totally rocked it for their session. They brought great outfits, had amazing ideas, and were super fun.

Caroline’s Senior Portraits on St. Simons Island at Christ Church and on the Beach

We like challenges. In photography, it’s not only what’s in the picture that matters, but also what’s not in the pictures. So when we decided to use a cemetery for the beginning of Caroline’s senior portraits we knew we were up for a good challenge. Because, well, tombstones don’t look pretty in pictures. :)

Christ Church cemetery on St. Simons is full of beautiful flowers and neat broken down buildings. We were glad to have such a great location to use.

We also spent a bit of time at the avenue of the oaks and on the beach.

Kara’s Senior Portraits on St. Simons Island, GA

We had a great time with Kara photographing her senior portraits on St. Simons Island. Shoots like this are why I love being a photographer. Kara in an incredibly happy person and great to be around.

We spent our time at Epworth by the Sea, the Village, and the beaches. As we were finishing up, God gave us an incredible sunset!

Taylor’s Senior Portrait Session in Downtown Brunswick

Taylor is an inspirational young man. He’s been an entrepreneur since age 14 or 15 – owning his own DJ business. In that first year he even DJ’ed our wedding. We’ve also worked a couple weddings together – me shooting and him DJ’ing, of course.

So getting to be his senior portrait photographer was an honor!

We’ve had quite a few requests recently for downtown sessions and here’s another. We loved that he even brought his trombone for some of the shots!

Janele’s Senior Session – Downtown Brunswick and Jekyll Island

We shot Janele’s sister’s wedding in August. While she was down from Michigan she asked us to shoot her senior portraits on both Jekyll Island and downtown Brunswick. We got so many great photos! She was a natural.

Kathryn’s Senior Session (with Camelot)

At the end of a long dirt road a super fun senior shoot awaited us. We had not had a shoot with a horse before. We’re fans of trying new things and were super excited to get to spend some time with Kathryn and her horse, Camelot. I think Kathryn’s senior portraits turned out beautiful and unique.

PS: If you’re a C.S. Lewis fan, you might could figure out what we almost called this post. Can anybody guess? The winner will receive a lifetime supply of high-fives!

Sara’s Senior Portrait Session On Jekyll Island

After transferring memory cards and seeing what we got I couldn’t go to bed without posting at least one image from today. One word for today’s shoot… AWESOME.

It was day two of Sara’s senior portraits (the one we started at the Ritz last month). We started in the historic district on Jekyll Island then headed to the water to photograph her and two friends in a canoe. So how did we shoot? From kayaks! (See the photo below I stole from one of the girl’s Facebook. That’s me in the front Kayak.)

The family brought all their own kayaks and a canoe for us to use. It was great to get out on the water again. I love families that care enough about getting good photos that they go through all that trouble to help. It made the shots to not have to shoot from land and instead be right there on the water with them.

I need to simmer down. I’m getting too excited. :)

Summary: Awesome family. Awesome ideas. Awesome photos. Can’t wait to post some more!

Sara’s Senior Portraits in Downtown Brunswick and at the Ritz Theater

Last week we got the chance to shoot Sara’s senior portraits in downtown Brunswick – beginning at the Ritz Theater. She has ben involved with plays there for a few years and wanted it to be a part of her senior portraits.

This is outside the Ritz. They even turned the sign on for us!

Janele’s Senior Portraits – Day Two Teaser

On Janele’s second day with us we headed to Jekyll Island for a run around the whole island from the historic district to some colonial ruins to the beaches. There was a final shot that Janele wanted at the entrance to the Jekyll Island causeway. After we got it we decided to play in the street (which all of our parents told us not to do). Just a fun way to end the night.
