For the locals, remember the piece of driftwood turned Christmas tree on the beach near Coastguard? It was our destination right before Christmas for a family Christmas card session with the Van Boxels. We ended the day with perfect weather and lighting and a sunset finale to complete this incredible session.

Right before Thanksgiving this year we joined the Searles family at Christ Church on St Simons Island for family portraits since all the family was together. It was a gift to the grandparents since it had been so long between family photos.

The VanBoxel’s are a super cool family who we got to photograph in the Village by the Pier on St. Simons Island. And to top it off, we had the most rad sunset that night!

Fun Times with the VanBoxel Kids

On a cold winter morning we joined the VanBoxel kids and their sneaky dad Jimmy under the guise of “going to see Santa” to get some secret photos to give their mom for Christmas. Yeah, I’m posting this two months late. :)

The plan was to meet at Christ Church to make use of the several hundred year old tabby walls and the great scenery. We also borrowed the playground for a bit. Next we headed to the St. Simons Island pier area for some more fun. These kids were a blast! This shoot was a bit different because Jimmy (dad) really likes black and white photography. Photographing with that purpose gives us a whole different approach to capturing images. I love when we get to things a bit different than normal.

On a “this guy rocks” side note. Jimmy is a stylist and owns Uberzoot Salon on St. Simons Island. He’s given Amanda and I the best cuts and styles we’ve ever had.

Kennimer’s 2 Year Old Beach Session

Two words. “Wide open”.

That’s Kennimer at the beach. I spent most of my time with him running. Run. Take a few shots. Run. Crouch down. Run. Crouch. Take a few more. Rinse and Repeat. He also loved the camera, hence the extreme close up.

I had so much fun.
