Amanda and I are incredibly honored by the support from our community. For the fourth year, our community has named us Elegant Island Living Magazine’s “Best of the Golden Isles” Best Wedding Photographer and our first Best Family Photographer for 2016! We are so excited for these honors and the love we’ve felt from the Golden Isles.
Congratulations Jaime and Elizabeth!
We just finished our last wedding of the year on Jekyll Island with Jaime and Elizabeth. I’ve always wished that I could get this angle, but of course, I can’t go swimming in a suit to get the photo. :)
Enter the most recent addition to the Chris Moncus Photography arsenal: The DJI Mavic Pro drone. It fits inside my camera bag and is easily deployable for those elusive angles I can’t get otherwise. 45 seconds to set this up and get it in the air means it doesn’t slow us down. It shoots DNG RAW photos giving us the precision editing capabilities we prefer to make amazing images.
We can’t wait to use this at your wedding! If you’re recently engaged or are getting engaged tonight, give us a shout!
Amanda and I are attending a conference tomorrow and Friday, the Willow Creek Global Leadership Summit. It’s a yearly two-day event telecast LIVE in HD from Willow’s campus near Chicago every August to hundreds of locations in North America. This will be my third time attending and Amanda’s second. We’re excited to bring back the things we’ve learned and become better leaders in our community and make the experience of working with us even better!
I’m especially excited to hear Horst Schulz (CEO, Capella Hotel Group; Founding President, The Ritz-Carlton Group). Last year he laid out his hotel’s customer relations and service plan. Ultimately, it was a focus on making the experience of the customer the best it can be and connecting with them on a personal level. I loved it. On top of the John Maxwell and Patrick Lencioni will be speaking; always a treat.
We don’t go to photo conferences usually, because so many of the speakers are speaking to beginners or selling snake oil. This conference is different in it’s focus on the roots of leadership and relating to our clients and employees. It feels more like TED talks than the hype show of most conferences. We love that.
If any of you are also attending, I made a note-taking printable for Amanda and I’m happy to share it with you!Download the GLS 2016 - Notes Pages here
